McLAREN
FALLS PARK, Highway 29, Western Kaimai Ranges, Tauranga [18
objects] - A National Tour course.
'Extreme'
disc golf at it's best. Bring plenty of plastic to this course.
The Tauranga troops hosted the nationals in 2001 and decided to
test the country's top players to the max. This course can be
punishing, especially now they've cleared scrub from the hills
and there's nothing there to stop a roller. It's not uncommon
for a shot that hit the ground 3 meters from the pin to end up
over 100 meters down a gully! There are some fantastic elevations
and numerous hill-to-hill shots that can favour the brave …
but then again can also favour the lay up. Play this course 4
times over a weekend and you'll be pleased to get home for a rest.
OTAMITI
COLLEGE [18 objects]
A testing short course by today's standards but sadly doesn't
get a lot of play these days. Probably on account of the weekend
cricket that is inclined to get in the way a little. If you can
get a local to show you the way, it's well worth a visit.
OMOKOROA
BEACH, Omokoroa Beach Reserve [18 objects]
A fun short course the locals play 2 or 3 times a week.
